Our Mission
San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health provides individuals with issues of mental health and substance abuse to find solutions to challenges they face so that they may function within their families and community by providing effective, efficient, and culturally based services.
Our Dedication
- Helping clients experience relief from emotional distress and assisting them in reaching their goals for a happier life.
- Assisting individuals with serious and ongoing mental illness and/or substance abuse to lead independent lives within their abilities.
- Treating clients with respect and according to their rights as clients.
- Providing quality care without overspending tax dollars.
- Offering services that are the least restrictive to people of all ages according to their needs.
- Providing early intervention and direct treatment to families in the community.
- Linking qualified clients to vocational and independent living resources.
- Holding the staff responsible for showing sensitivity to cultural and ethnic differences so that all clients will feel understood and respected.
- Encouraging teamwork among staff, clients, and community support systems in order to develop options for better living.
- Supporting the staff by encouraging creativity, while at the same time meeting Federal, State, and County guidelines.
